Deep ruby red in appearance with ripe fruity nose and hint of vanilla. On the palate it is soft and warm and gently tannic with an outstanding structure and long aromatic finish. Can be drunk with traditional Tuscan cold cuts and mature cheese and red meats, but is the best appreciated with game such as wild boar or hare.
The Riserva is produced only with the best vintages using only the best grapes exclusively Sangiovese. Fermented for 12/18 days in steel vats, using native yeasts present on the skins of the grapes. The malolactic fermentation takes place in the oak tonneaux (not new) where the wine then matures for the following 12 months. It is refined further in the steel vats, and lastly in the bottle itself.
