Borgo di Sugame Chianti Classico

Borgo di Sugame Chianti Classico is made with Sangiovese grape plus a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a deep ruby colour and on the nose a marked flowery and woody flavour. On the palette, it remains soft, well structured and full.

Ideal serving temperature: 18° to 20°C

Best accompanying red meat and hard cheese.

Borgo di Sugame Chianti Classsico Riserva is made only from exceptionally good vintages. The production process is the same as for normal Chianti Classico. We use only the best grapes from the harvest to provide more intense colour, more body and more structure. Our Chianti Classico Riserva is therefore clearly a wine that will have a longer life. It is matured for 12-16 months in barriques and tonneau after which it passes back in to stainless steel vats and is then bottled for its last refinement. This wine is well worth putting down for a few years. It has a deep ruby colour with shades of garnet, an ample flowery perfume and is long and lingering on the palette with a good volume.

Ideal serving temperature: 18° to 20°C

Best accompanied by red meat, particularly game.

Borgo di Sugame IGT Rosé

Borgo di Sugame IGT Rosé is made by removing fermenting juice from the vats of the best wine in the first day or two of fermentation, while still mixing the skins (rimontaggio). In this way, the skin:liquid ratio is increased, resulting in a higher concentration of its constituents. The purpose is to increase the quality of the best wine. The liquid removed produces the Rosé.

Ideal serving temperature: chilled

Perfect as an aperitif

Borgo di Sugame Bosco Grosso

Bosco Grosso is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. This wine is made and left in stainless steel vats before being bottled. Bosco Grosso is ready to drink within the year. It is less complex than our Chianti Classico but a is good, all-round wine for everyday drinking.

At Borgo di Sugame, we produce a small amount of chestnut flower and millfiori (wildflower) honey.

Borgo di Sugame Olive Oil

Borgo di Sugame Olive Oil is made from several varieties of olive tree: Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo. The olives are hand-picked and transported to the organic ‘frantoio’ within 48 hours. The oil extraction is cold pressed so that olive oil produced is therefore the best possible.
